نگاره: Her name is “Happiness”, in Kurdish “Shokhan”. She has spent half of her life of seven years in buses and hospitals to do treatment and surgeries on her eyes which got blind after a medical mistake: a penicillin test was missed by a doctor and now another doctor is doing surgery on her eyes to try to lighten up her world again. “Come over here to have a more beautiful shadow on the wall, Shokhan” I say. She turns to me and asks: “Shadow?” Her question makes me pause. She moves a little. I explain: &#۰۳۴;Look! Sun is so shining from my side here.” While I was thinking to myself why I started my sentence with “look”, she lifts her hand to shield her bandaged eyes from the sun and says: “Is that OK?” “Great!” I say and click.
